Hanon Exercise No. 4 piano sheet music

Exercise No. 4 of Charles-Louis Hanon's The Virtuoso Pianist (1873) takes one eight-note figure, C–D–C–E–A–G–F–E, and moves it up the C major scale one step at a time and back down again, with both hands an octave apart. The right hand starts the figure with fingers 1-2-1-2-5. Play it slowly and evenly first, lifting each finger, and raise the metronome only when every note sounds the same; Hanon's range is ♩ = 60 to 108, and the audio plays it at 96.
