Hallelujah Chorus sheet music

The Hallelujah Chorus closes Part II of Messiah, and Handel drafted the whole oratorio in roughly three and a half weeks. On the piano the challenge is texture rather than speed: four vocal lines entering in turn have to stay audible as separate voices while the repeated 'Hallelujah' figure drives underneath. The tradition of standing for it dates to a London performance where George II reportedly rose — a story nobody has ever fully verified.
