Tango piano sheet music
Tango collects the pieces that carried the dance out of Buenos Aires and Montevideo, together with its Brazilian cousin, the tango brasileiro. The habanera-style bass is the engine: a dotted figure in the left hand that the melody leans against, sometimes lazily and sometimes with a sharp accent. Getting that bass to feel inevitable, not mechanical, is most of the work. Every piece here was published before 1929 and is arranged for solo piano.
