The First Noel piano sheet music
The First Noel was first printed in William Sandys' Christmas Carols, Ancient and Modern (1833), but singers in Cornwall had carried it for generations before that. The melody climbs the same stepwise phrase again and again, so the easy version in C major is a good first carol to read. The intermediate version is the classic four-part hymn setting in D major for both hands.
